He received an AB at Harvard, 1962, and an MA at the University of California at Berkeley, 1964. The artist reports that Robert Frank, William Klein, Baudelaire and Navajo witchcraft have strongly influenced his work.
Career
At the time of this writing he was lecturing at the University of Massachusetts, Boston, and has taught at the Art Institute of Boston since 1975. He has also been photographer-in-residence at Eliot House, Harvard, since 1976. Prior to that he worked as a freelance photographer, beginning in 1972; was editor of Fusion magazine, Boston (1969-72); and was instructor in the Humanities Dept., Boston University (1968-72). Angier has also published poetry in Quarterly Review of Literature (1968) and Quire (1967), and an article he wrote on Baudelaire was in Boston University Review (1970).
He has also served on the Artists' Advisory Council of the Massachusetts Arts and Humanities Foundation (1977-78), from which he received an Artist-in Residence Grant (1977). A founding member of Voices Gallery (1978), he was also part of the "Works in Progress" NEA-sponsored Public Art Project (1975).

Mr. Angier has been a member of the Boston Visual Artists' Union since 1974; in 1976 he was chairman of its Gallery Committee, and was alternate secretary-general in 1977.
