Japanese Buddhist priest Ryuko of the Shingon Sect. Favored by Shogun Tsunayoshi Tokugawa, he was granted a temple estate on which he founded the Gojiin Temple in Edo. He lived in retirement at the Choshoji Temple in his native province in his late years.
Ryuko was born in 1649, Yamato Province (Nara Prefecture). His family name was Kawabe and his other name Eishun.
