This annotated work represents the first bibliography since the AIDS epidemic began to unite scientific literature about prostitutes. The annotated entries cover works on prostitutes published in English in both major and obscure bio-medical journals between 1900 and 1990, and include literature concerning the relationship between prostitutes and AIDS. Some papers published in European and Asian languages are also included.

Sachi was born on May 8, 1953 in Chilaw, Sri Lanka. He is the son of Siva (a government clerical service worker) and Puvanes (an astrologer; maiden name, Thiyagarajah) Sachithanantham.
Sachi studied at the University of Colombo and receihed a Bachelor of Science in 1976. He also attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign and received his Ph.D. (food chemistry) in 1986.
Sachi finished the University of Tokyo with his Ph.D. (marine biochemistry) in 1989.
Sachi worked at the University of Peradeniya, Peradeniya, Sri Lanka as an assistant lecturer during 1978-81; at the Medical College of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia as a post-doctoral fellow during 1989-90. He also served at Osaka BioScience Institute, Osaka, Japan as a research fellow during 1991-94.
During 1995-99 he worked as a biochemist at the Japan Institute for Control of Aging, Fukuroi City, Japan. He was an associate professor at Gifu University, Japan from 2000.
His first work was Prostitutes in Medical Literature: An Annotated Bibliography, published in 1991. Kantha followed Prostitutes in Medical Literature with, An Einstein Dictionary. This work received mixed reviews. While George Eberhart recommended ‘this volume is useful as a quick fact-finder’ and Laurie Brown found it ‘more interesting reading, because of its colorful entries and extensive bibliography and index’, C.D. Hurt criticized it for ‘inequalities in the typeface fonts between the main text and disconcerting tables’.
In 2005, Sri Kantha published his 640-page biography book on Velupillai Prabhakaran (1954-2009), the leader of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). It was entitled, ‘Pirabhakaran Phenomenon’. Since December 2012, Sri Kantha is currently serializing a biography on M.G. Ramachandran, the renowned stage-cinema actor and Tamil Nadu politician.

1998“During my graduate studies at the University of Illinois, my interest in becoming a science expositor blossomed from my readings of Bertrand Russell and Bernard Shaw. While I began to publish lab research in peer- reviewed science journals, I made an effort to follow the traditions of Linus Pauling (Nobelist in chemistry) and Peter Medawar (Nobelist in medicine) whom I recognized as the master expositors of their viewpoints, while retaining their credibility as experimental scientists. Influenced by the working mode of Bertrand Russell and Bernard Shaw, I make a conscious effort to write at least five hundred words daily about anything. I have found early morning (6-9AM) and late night (10PM-1AM) as optimal periods for my head-to-hand coordination. Always I write in freehand first, and then only type what I have written into the computer. (It was) only four years ago (that) I was able to have a personal computer.
