He graduated from the Leningrad Agricultural Institute and then the Military-Political Academy named after V.I. Lenin.
He worked in Voronezh as an agronomist, head of the Literature and Art department in the newspaper "Molodoy Kommunar". When he was in the Red Army, he resigned from the post of editor of the regional book publishing house. Participated the Great Patriotic War. After the war he lived in the city of Odessa, was the editor of the newspaper of the Odessa Military District "Zashchitnik rodiny". On the Danilov’s verses, composer K.I. Massalitinov wrote several songs.
After the Great Patriotic War, he often visited Voronezh.
