Sam Wilson

Background

Mr. Wilson was born in Erie, Pennsylvania, United States, on June 16, 1946. He is a son of Glenn, an engineer, and Sadie, a homemaker who's maiden name was Richards, Wilson.

Education

Sam Wilson was a student of Pennsylvania State University, from which he obtained his Bachelor of Science in 1968. In 1971 he graduated from University of California, San Diego, receiving Master of Science degree.

Career

Mr. Wilson served as a research associate and editor at National Marine Fisheries Service between 1983 and 1986. He worked as a managing editor of Agrichemical Age and Agrichemical Briefing at HBJ Farm Publications in 1988-1990. During the period of 1986-1991 he held the position of designer of wetland mitigation installations at Western Ecological Services Co. In 1991 Sam Wilson as appointed consulting ecologist at LSA Associates, Point Richmond, CA.

Sam Wilson became a member of board of directors of Sea Training Institute in 1992. Since 1994 he became a research associate of California Academy of Sciences. Thereafter Mr. Wilson was appointed consultant in the design and facilitation of environmental restoration projects.

Mr. Wilson has been a contributor to scientific books and also a contributor of articles and photographs to magazines, including Worm Runner’s Digest, Pacific Discovery, Restoration and Management Notes, and California Landscape.
