Samuel I. Akinseinde is a professor of Technical/Technology Education. He earned his Master's Degree from Michigan State University, East Lansing, USA, and Ph.D. from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, with both degrees in Industrial Technical Education and specialization in Electrical/Electronics.
He served as the Director of Academic Planning (DAP) at Delta State University between 2010 and 2016. He is a member of International Research bodies such as International Vocational Education and Training (IVET) and American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE). He is a consultant to UNESCO-Dakar Regional Office for Education in Africa, Universal Basic Education Commission, Abuja, and Nigerian Educational Research and Development Council (NERDC).
He has several scholarly papers in International and National peer-reviewed journals and proceedings. His current research interests include; Gender issues, Policies, Leadership, Programme evaluation, Vocational - Technical Education, and Training. He has served as External Examiner to ten (10) Nigerian Universities at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He has served as External Assessor for promotion to the post of Reader and Professor in Industrial Technology Education. He is a member of Governing Councils, Eastern Polytechnic, Port-Harcourt (2015 till date) and Delta State Polytechnic, Ozoro (2008). He served as Head of Department of Vocational and Technical Studies for five times between 1993 and 2016, Managing Editor (1999-2016), Delsu Journal of Educational Research and Development, Coordinator, Teacher Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN), Delta State University Chapter (2005-2010), and Coordinator, Students' Industrial Work Experience (1993-1995) in Delta State University, Abraka.
Akinseinde is a recipient of various awards and scholarships, which include: (I). Technical Teacher Training Programme Scholarship granted by the Agency for International Development, Washington, DC. 1984 (ii). Gold Award for Distinguished Leadership in National Development, 2009 (iii). Pioneer Staff Long Service Meritorious Award of Delta State University in 2017, and (iv). Distinguished Alumnus Award of Service and Achievement, Federal College of Education (Technical) Akoka, Yaba, Lagos. (v). "Who's Who in the world" (Marquis Who's Who 16th Edition, 1999).
