Sandy Cohen

Background

Sandy Cohen was born on December 8, 1946, in Bronx, New York, to Rubean Cohen, a window trimmer, and Kate (Lutzer) Cohen, a secretary.

Education

Cohen received an Associate degree from Dade Junior College and a Bachelor of Arts from Florida Atlantic University. He also received a Master of Arts and a Ph.D. from Auburn University.

Career

At the beginning of his career, Cohen worked as a lecturer at Auburn University. He also was a professor at Albany State University and Fulbright professor at Jilin University. He also has been a writer for the television series Books in a Bind, PBS-TV.

Before Revelations, Sandy published two books in Europe plus stories, articles, poetry, and essays in journals and magazines in the United States, Canada, China, Germany, England, and Greece. Another novel, The Viper's Son, is an action-adventure book. He has also been a professor in Georgia, a jazz musician, bookbinder, actor and, for almost two decades, a humorous commentator on public radio. In addition, Sandy appeared in a mini-series for public television and co-starred in a feature film, Do Not Disturb, filmed in northern China, where he lived for a year.
