After graduating from Kyoto University (1922) remained as assistant professor. Saneshige Komaki later continued his studies in Europe and America.
Saneshige Komaki was conferred a doctorate, Doctor of Letters (1937) and the following year was promoted professor and Japan's delegate to the International Geography Conference (1938). Resigned from Kyoto University after the end of war and was professor at Shiga University. Among his works are "Studies in Prehistoric Geography" and "Japan Geopolitic Declaration".
