She started her career with Capital Radio, contributed regular items to British Broadcasting Corporation Radio Four, and was a continuity announcer and newsreader for HTV West before joining British Broadcasting Corporation Wales News. Sara"s hobbies are theatre, music, concerts, cookery—she has a professional cooking diploma from Louisiana Petite Cuisine culinary school in London—painting, and the countryside, as her family have a farm in West Wales. She also enjoys golf, tennis, horseracing, and riding.
Sara is the Vice Lord-Lieutenant of Dyfed. She is a supporter of The Duke of Edinburgh"s Award scheme in Wales and has presented Gold Awards on behalf of His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh at Street James" Palace.
She is also involved with Cancer Research Wales, the British Heart Foundation, is on the council of the University of Wales, Lampeter, a serving Sister of Saint John Ambulance, and was on the board of the Wales Youth Agency.
