Sarah earned a Ph.D. from The Graduate Center, CUNY.
Sarah worked as an art historian. She was a curator of exhibits at Hartwick College and Brooklyn Museum, and also a curator of traveling exhibits for Center for Photography at Woodstock and Philadelphia Museum of Art. She then served as a lecturer at educational institutions, including Adelphi University, 1986, 1990, Kean College of New Jersey, 1987, and Montclair State College and State University of New York College at Purchase, both 1988.
