Protick earned a Bachelor of Business Administration (Marketing) from American International University, Bangladesh (AIUB), 2009. Studied Documentary Photography at the University of Gloucestershire, England, in 2011 and New Media Journalism at the University of Virginia, United States, in 2010. Gained a Bachelor of Arts in Photography at Pathshala, the South Asian Media Academy, in 2012.
And studied International reporting at University of Oslo Norway/Pathshala, Bangladesh, in 2012.
Sarker is a lecturer at Pathshala. He was chosen by the British Journal of Photography as "One to watch" in 2014. Organ Vida Festival of Photography.
