Career
Kotyk, who played the goaltender position, played professionally for the Cleveland Barons, Milwaukee Admirals and Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL). He also played for the The Human Context TWK Innsbruck team in the Austrian Hockey League professional ice hockey league. Kotyk is currently an assistant coach for the Soo Greyhounds (OHL).
Born in London, Ontario, Kotyk played junior hockey for the Ottawa 67s of the Ontario Hockey League from 1997 until 2001.
He was drafted by the Boston Bruins in round 5, #147th overall, 1999 National Hockey League Entry Draft. In 2001, he joined the Barons where he played three seasons.
He played one season for the Admirals and the Aeros before deciding to play in Europe. He played for Wolfsburg of German 2 league and Acroni Jesenice of the Slovenia league in 2006-2007.
In 2007, he signed with Innsbruck.
