In 1994 Seibu Mary Jacob received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from Mahatma Gandhi University, a Master of Science degree in 1996, and a Bachelor of Education degree in 1999. In 1998 Jacob gained a Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications from L.B.S. Center for Science and Technology in 1998.
From 2002 to 2003 Seibu Mary Jacob was a lecturer in mathematics at INTI College Sarawak in Kuching, Malaysia, and at the Swinburne University of Technology, Sarawak Campus in Kuching since 2004. In 2003 she was an assistant head at Fairview International School in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. From 2005 to 2006 she was a team leader at Kuching Transport Preferences.
Seibu Mary Jacob is best known for research in assessment effects and student perceptions in higher education, in phishing attacks and countermeasures, in mobile devices and its learning usage analysis as well as a research in mobile technologies and its impact an analysis in higher education context.
She also made a research in e-learning implementation and its diverse effects in information technology and economic development, in critical thinking in online mathematics discussion forums and mathematical achievement and in effects of online MCQ tests on student learning and a research in critical thinking in online mathematics discussion forums to improve mathematics problem solving and critical thinking.
On June 10, 1999 Seibu Mary Jacob married Biju Issac. They have two children: Abhishek Johan Issac, Sourabh Steve Issac.
