Also identified himself with the Shaminto (Social-Democratic) Party and was elected to the Osaka Prefectural Assembly. After the war, joined the Socialist Party and became a member of the central executive committee. Elected to the House of Councilors once, and appointed the chairman of the Personnel Committee.
