He graduated from Agricultural Chemistry Department of Tokyo University in 1917.
In 1917 he entered Osaka Alkali Company and became manager of its Tokyo Branch in 1929. He was appointed managing director of Nihon Hydrogen Industry Company and assumed additional post of managing director of Kari Kogyo Kaisha (Kali Industrial Enterprise Company) in 1945. He became senior managing director and then president of Nihon Suiso (Hydrogen Industry) Company in 1947.
He served also as president of Nihon Ryuan Kogyo Kyokai (Japan Ammonium Sulphate Industry Association). He held additional post of managing director of Japan Chemical Industry Association.
