Career
Began his career with the Okinawa Frefectural Government (1881) and then was with the Ministry of Finance. After resigning from Government service (1886) returned home and entered business. Was president of Ryomo Bank fox' more than ten years and was the central figure in financial circles in Yamagata.
Personality
Seish Ikeda was well versed in Chinese classics and a skillful writer. Among his works is a biography of Yozan Uesugi.
