Studied at the Voronezh Theological Seminary ("graduated from the poetry class").
Career
He was a deacon in the settlement Semyonovka of the Pavlovsky district, a priest in the village of Novospasovka of the Novokhopersky district and in the village of Verkhny Studenets of the Zadonsky district of the Voronezh province. Lived as a widower in the Zadonsky Bogoroditsky (1841-1843) and Voronezh Mitrofan (since 1843) monasteries. In 1846 he took monastic vows with the name Ambrose. Sacrist (since 1850), governor (since 1854) of the monastery. Became Archimandrite in 1862.
