Senseki Takami was born on August 3, 1785 in Japan.
Senseki Takami was appointed councilor to Koga Clan (1831). Later adviser to Clan Lord Doi at Osaka Castle (1834). When the affairs of the clan came up for revision he advocated the opening of ports to foreigners and the exploitation of Hokkaido.
Late in life the Shogunate exiled him to Koga, Ibaraki Prefecture, for his advocating of foreign intercourse.
