1st Generation: (1698-1756). Very little is known of him and is said to have been a small-time dancer.
2nd Generation: ( ? -1818). Originated several styles of dancing among which Kurama-jishi, Seki-no-to, and Modori-hago are still in vogue.
4th Generation (1797-1845). Originally named Kansuke Fujima, was a disciple of Kanjurd Fujima and designed the dances for the drama, Kanjinclio.
5th Generation ( ? -1860). Was succeeded by Minosuke Nishikawa and his disciples later formed two different: one Yoshijiro Nishikawa founding the Hanayagi school and Kaisaburo Nishikawa retained the Nagoya Nishikawa school. Subsequent members of the family became dance instructors.
