Sergey Leonidovich Prishchepa is a Belarusian physicist, researcher, professor, and science educator specializing in condensed-matter physics, superconducting thin-film microstructures, semiconductor conductivity, and electronic materials. He has worked in research and higher education in Russia, Belarus, and international scientific collaborations.
Background
Sergey Leonidovich Prishchepa was born on January 2, 1956, in Molodechno, in the Mahilyowskaya Voblasts' of Belarus. He is Belarusian and has developed his scientific and academic career primarily in Belarus, while also undertaking early research work in Moscow and participating in international collaborations in condensed-matter physics.
Education
Prishchepa studied physics at the Moscow Physical Engineering Institute, where he completed a Master of Science degree in 1979. His subsequent scientific development focused on condensed-matter physics and superconducting microstructures. He defended a candidate dissertation in 1984 on vortex mechanisms in superconducting A15-lattice microbridges and a doctoral dissertation in 1996 on dissipative processes and vortex dynamics in superconducting thin-film microstructures.
Career
Prishchepa began his professional career as an engineer at the P. N. Lebedev Physical Institute of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR in Moscow, where he worked from 1978 to 1979. After a period of further scientific development, he served as a junior scientific researcher at the Minsk Radioengineering Institute from 1982 to 1986. From 1986 to 2000 he was a senior scientific researcher at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, combining research in condensed-matter physics with work in electronic and semiconductor materials. In 1997 he also held a professorship at the Higher State College of Communications. From 2000 onward he has been a professor at the Belarusian State University of Informatics and Radioelectronics, where he has taught and supervised work in physics, electronics, information security, and related scientific fields. His research has addressed vortex processes and resistive transitions in superconducting structures, thin-film materials, low-temperature conductivity in doped silicon, graphene, and superconducting-ferromagnetic trilayers. He has collaborated with researchers and institutions in Belarus, Russia, Italy, and the Netherlands.
