Sergey studied violin at the Warsaw School for gifted children, on the clarinet - from his father F.F. Voznesensky. Sergey was also able to play other musical instruments.
In 1903, Sergey organized a brass band in the railway workshops, which were renaimed in the Machine Building Plant named after F.E. Dzerzhinsky, and since 1905, has performed with this brass band.
In 1909-1911, he created two brass and house-balalaika orchestras in the town of Yelets.
In 1912-1919, lived in the city of Borisoglebsk Tambov province, where directed three brass bands.
In 1923, he created an orchestra collective in the club named after Comintern, then in schools No. 17, 2, Aviation Technical School and other educational institutions.
