He graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy of Moscow State University in 1952.
In 1941-1948 he served in the aviation of the navy. In 1948-1949, he was a komsomg of the Central Committee of the All-Union Lenin Communist Youth League at the locomotive plant in Kolomna. From August 1950, he worked as a journalist in "Moscow Komsomolez", "Komsomolskaya Pravda", where in 1952-1961 he was in charge of several branches.
He was a correspondent to the newspaper "Soviet Russia" for the Krasnoyarsk territory and Tuva ASSR (from 1961), in Voronezh from the June of 1965.
