Sergio Waisman graduated from University of California, Berkeley, receiving his Bachelor of Scince in 1990. In 1995 he obtained Master of Arts from University of Colorado, Boulder. Sergio Waisman earned his Doctor of Philosophy from the University of California, Berkeley in 2000.
Mr. Waisman is a current writer and translator. His areas of research and teaching include Latin American literature, literary theory and translation, comparative literature, and Jewish-Latin American literature. Sergio Waisman has translated six books of Latin American literature, including The Absent City by Ricardo Piglia. His first novel, Leaving, was published in the U.S. in 2004.
