Career
When haiku poetry underwent reforms he proposed a new school in 1895 and organized the Tsukubakai group of new haiku, composers and started the magazines, Aki-no-Koe (Voice of Autumn) and Uzue. He was noted for his collection of haiku literature. Wrote books including Yosa-Buson and a history of haiku.
