Sharon Fox received a Bachelor of Arts in Fine Arts from the American University, Washington, D.C., in 1968 and an Master of Science in Art Education from Massachusetts College of Art, Boston, in 1973. She earned an Master of Fine Arts in Photography from Lone Mountain College, San Francisco, California, in 1978.
In 1979 Sharon Fox became a photography instructor at the Art Institute of Boston and since 1978 has been summer resident photography instructor at the Mam Photographic Workshops, Rockport. From 1976 to 1977 Sharon Fox was in the Artist-in-Schools program at Bethel Regional High School, Bethel, Alaska, and from 1973 to 1976 she was director of photography at Project Art Center, Cambridge, Massachusetts.
