In 1929, graduated from Tokyo University.
In 1930, appointed professor of Tohoku Gakuin School and in 1937 staff member of the Eastern Culture Research Institute, studying military system of China. In 1941, appointed assistant professor of Tokyo University and left this position in 1944 to become consultant to the Survey Bureau of the Manchurian Railway Company and stayed in Dairen. Following the end of the war, returned to Japan. In 1950, he is professor of Yamanashi University. Specialized in study of the Chinese constitutional and social history in the Chin, Han, Soei and Tangdynasties.
