Career
Shigematsu taught at Toshima Normal School and then served at School Affairs Department of Tokyo Prefectural Government (from 1941).
Later in 1943 he was appointed Kyogakukan (educational reform officer) of Tokyo, administrative official of Education Ministry and manager of the elementary school attached at Nara Women's Higher Normal School.
Since 1952 Takayasu's held a post of professor of Education Department of Nagoya University.
