Graduated from the Surgery Section, Tokyo University (1919) and went to Germany the following year and studied plastic surgery at Berlin University.
After returning to Japan, he was appointed instructor at his alma mater and then professor at Aichi Medical College in Nagoya (1927). Was professor at Nagoya Medical College (1931-52). His father and his younger brother, Eiji, also are well-known surgeons.
The eldest son of Kenzo Nagura, well-known bone setter.
