Shigeru Kawada served eith To-yo Boseki (Spinning) Company and thereafter became director of Toyo Synthetic Chemistry Research Institute and chief of Pharmaceutical Section of Kyowa Sangyo (Industrial) Company. He became director and superintendent of Ogaki Plant of Nihon Gosei Sen-i Kaisha (Japan Synthetic Fiber Company) (1949) and later became its permanent director.
