Took charge of Dr. Kohei Takenouchi's consulting room. She received a doctorate for her research in the Japanese women's constitution and has since been actively connected with various educational and social projects.
She was a director of several associations such as Juvenile Protective Society, Racial Sanitation Association, Eugenic Marriage and Population Bureau.
After the war she was elected a member of the Diet, becoming the first woman to head the Women's Section.
