Shingoro Takaishi was born in 1878 in Chiba, Japan.
Shingoro Takaishi graduated from Keio University (1901). He also studied at London University.
Shingoro Takaishi joined Mainichi Shimbun (newspaper). He worked with the Daily Express and also acted as a correspondent to the Mainichi.
Later he was appointed as special correspondent to America, Russia and other countries. When the English Mainichi was established became its chief editor. He became chief editor of Osaka Mainichi (1924). Later appointed chief editor of Tokyo Nichinichi Shimbun. Served as president of the Mainichi group of newspapers.
Purged after World War II. When the purge was lifted became adviser to Mainichi Shimbun. Also director of Japan Athletic Association and of Kojunsha (Keio Association for Promotion of Social Intercourse).
He has written several books in English.
