He graduated from Mechanical Engineering Course of Tokyo University in 1905.
He entered Tetsudo Sagyokyoku (Railway Operation Bureau).
He received a degree in engineering in 1924.
Then in 1918 toured the U.S.A. to inspect railway. Became the director of Railway Technique Research Institute in 1926.
Attended Madrid International Conference and 2nd International Conference on Motive Power held in Berlin in 1930.
He served successively as managing director of Nihon Shingo (Signal) Company, president of Matsunaga Metal Industry Company, director of Toho Industrial Research Institute and president of Japan Mechanics Society, Japan Shingo (Signal) Association and Yosetsugakukai (Welding Science Society) and thereafter became president of Shibaura Engineering Company and Shibaura Junior College of Engineering in1945.
Assumed various other posts including those of chief director of Shibaura Gakuen (Academy), principal of Shibaura High School and director of private Schools Promotion Association. Has over 50 patents.
