Education
Shinzo Kawai studied Western style painting first under Horyu Goseida and then under Shotaro Koyama.
Career
Accompanied Kunishiro Mitsuya and Banka Maruyama on an exhibition tour of art to America (1901) and traveled to Europe (1904). As manager of Pacific Ocean Painting Association, became a popular figure in art circles.
