Career
Her brother, Roger Morgan, was Librarian of the House of Lords. Before marriage she worked in the Foreign Office as personal secretary to Gladwyn Jebb. Sir George Paget, 7th Marquess of Anglesey (8 October 1922 - 13 July 2013).

She was invested as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in 1977. She was invested as a Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (Dame Commander of the Order of the British Empire) in 1983. She was later invested as a Lieutenant, Royal Victorian Order (LVO).
Membership
She was President of the National Federation of Women"s Institutes 1966-1969, a board member of the British Council 1985-1995, chairman of the Broadcasting Complaints Commission 1987-1991, and vice-chairman of the Museums and Galleries Commission 1989-1996.
