Shojiro Ueda was born in Nara Prefecture, Japan in 1886.
Shojiro Ueda graduated from the English Language Department of Higher Normal School Department of Waseda University in 1909.
Shojiro Ueda was a special correspondent to North and South America of Mainichi Shimbun (newspaper). Later he served as a chief of Social Work and Local Affairs Departments of the head office and then became vice-chief of Editorial Office in 1939. In 1940, he resigned from the company.
Shojiro Ueda was an appointed director of Harada Sekizenki (Harada Charity Foundation) in 1940 and became representative director of ShinKansai Shimbun (New Kansai Newspaper). His books include Nara-no Daibutsu-san (The Great Image of Buddha at Nara), Hoshi Dokyo and Horyuji Hiwa (Secret Stories About the Horyuji Temple).
