Career
Shokichi Sawayama became president of Sawayama Shokai (Sawayama Trading Company) (1930), Sawayama Kyodai Shokai (Sawayama Brothers & Company), Shinto Crude Oil Company and Nissen (Japan-Korea) Marine Transportation Company and then served as director of Teikoku Rolling Stock Industry Company and thereafter became president of Sawayama Steamship Company (since 1937) and Daiwa Chemical Industry Company.
He holds additional posts of director of Kobe Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Nihon Senshu Kyokai (Japan Shipowners' Association) and official of several other industrial organizations and companies.
