Education
Studied medicine in Kyoto. Shosai Miyake became disciple of Ansai Yamazaki. After his master's death studied under Naokata Sato and Keisai Asami.
Career
He was employed by Lord of Abe in 1690. Often reproved the lord to his face and was imprisoned in 1707. Was pardoned after three years and thereafter engaged himself in youth education.
