Shou-chuan Wen was born in Hung-tung, Shansi, China in 1881.
Mr.Shou-chuan studied military science at the Military Cadet's College in Tokyo, specializing in artillery and was graduated with distinction.
Shou-chuan Wen participated in the 1911 Revolution at Wuchang and was an assistant military commissioner of Shansi and then served under Gen. Yen Hsi-shan. Upon the establishment of the Nationalist Government at Nanking, he was appointed chief representative of Shansi stationed at the Nationalist Capital.
Later he became a chief counsellor to the Northern Punitive Expeditionary Forces of the Nationalist Government. Then he was a member and Commissioner of Construction of Hopei Provincial Government and worked there from 1928 to 1929.
