Takahashi Shoun was born in 1548 Japan. Son of a general who served Yoshishige otomo (Sorin) in Bungo.
Shoun Takahashi began his service beneath the Ōtomo of Bungo Province around this same initial time, with Sōrin as their leader and head. Eventually, Shigetane became the respective controller of the Takahashi clan, in which he was additionally regarded as a great pillar of power to the Otomo name.
He was made castellan of the castles in Iwaya and Homan (1570) and soon became a mainstay fo r the otomo family. Later became a priest assuming the name of Shoun. When Yoshihiro Shimazu prepared to attack Dazaifu (1586), Shoun ordered his second son Yashichiro to defend Homan Castle while he guarded Iwaya Castle.
