Shozaburo Kawai entered Sumitomo Company (1916). He was sent to Europe and America for study (1925). Shozaburo Kawai became director of Sumitomo Steel Plant (1927), director of General Affairs and Personnel sections, supervisor, managing director and chief of Accounting Section, meantime served also as official of various companies affiliated with Sumitomo; resigned (1946). Became president of Osaka Tatemono (Building) Co., Ltd. (1949).
