Accompanied Keigo of Tofukuji Temple to China, during the rule of the Ming Dynasty. In China studied the technique of manufacturing porcelain wares.
After returning home built a kiln in Inari and started his own business as a ceramist (1513), achieving fame. His wares were stamped with the seal Gozuisho Gorodayic.
