Shunji Kanagami graduated from Tokyo Higher Commercial School.
Shunji Kanagami entered Sumitomo Shindosho (Sumitomo Copper Rolling Mill) in 1920. He became manager of Nagoya Store of Sumitomo Goshi Kaisha (Sumitomo & Company or Sumitomo Limited Partnership) (1936), director of Aircraft Department of Sumitomo Metal Industry Company and after successive promotions was appointed director and chief of Compound Metal and Iron & Steel Departments of the same company (1947). Shunji Kanagami became manager of Tokyo Branch of Fuso Kinzoku Kogyo Kaisha (Fuso Metal Industry Company) and director and chief of Copper Rolling Department of the same company (1949) and thereafter assumed his present post. Holds additional posts of director of Nihon Shindo Kyokai (Japan Copper Rolling Association) and Nihon Hi-tetsu Kinzoku Yushutsu Kumiai (Japan Non-ferrous Metals Export Company).
