Takiguchi Shuzo was born on December 7, 1903 in Toyama, Japan.
At first Takiguchi was interested in poetry and later became a critic of the fine arts. He based his activity on the motion picture business, produced and wrote the scenario of a cultural film, Hokusai.
During 1939-1941 Shuzo has served as an instructor at Nihon University. He wrote several books on art. Starting in the 1950s, Takiguchi began offering new experimental outlets for young postwar avant-garde artists who lacked opportunities for presenting their work in formats other than group exhibitions.
