Gohei Ishimaru became a teacher of a middle school in the Kansai District and came up to Tokyo during the chaotic period following World War I. He became active in religious literary circles. Gohei Ishimaru wrote Ningen Shinran (Shinran as a Man). Published privately, Jinsei Sozo (Creation of Human Life). Once served as instructor at Nihon University. Publications include Zen no aru Jinsei (Life with Zen Doctrine) and Sozo Tetsugaku Gairon (Outline of Creative Philosophy) and Kyusai Kan (On Salvation).
Gohei Ishimaru turned to Nationalism when Fascism gained power. He was purged in 1948.
