Sid Caesar, American actor, comedian. Member of Old Falls Rod and Gun (Fallsburgh, New York ).


Caesar, Sid was born on September 8, 1922 in Yonkers, New York, United States. Son of Max and Ida (Raphael) Caesar.


Graduate, Yonkers High School, 1939. Studied saxophone and clarinet, New York City.

    • Played in small bands, later orchestras of Charlie Spivak, Shep Fields and Claude Thornhill following World World War II. Toured leading theatres and night clubs as comedian. Appeared in film version Tars and Spars Revue.

      In Broadway musical productions of Make Mine Manhattan, 1948, Admiral Broadway Revue, 1948, Your Show of Shows, 1950-1954. Star of own show Caesar's Hour, 1954-1957. Star and producer own show Sid Caesar Invites You, 1958, As Caesar Sees It, 1962-1963.

      Television guest appearances include Robert Morse Show. Star of Broadway musical Little Me, 1962-1963.
