Bachelor of Arts Acadia College, Canada., 1865. Harvard University, 1873.
Teacher of history, law, politics and government and writer of able works on economics. His criticisms of the writings of F. A. Walker in Quarterly Journal of Economics were effective in identifying weaknesses in Walker’s ideas. His Working Principles. achieved some success as a textbook and was a clear exposition of current orthodoxy.
