Simon holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Computer Science from the University of Cambridge, an Master of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa, and a Bachelor of Science (Honours) degree in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Cape Town, South Africa.
Where he subsequently founded CPlane Incorporated., a network optimization software vendor, where he held a variety of executive roles. Crosby joined Intel in 2003 where he served as Principal Engineer leading a research project in the use of distributed, autonomic inference to develop algorithms for enhanced system security. He joined Citrix through the acquisition of XenSource in 2007 where he served as Chief Technology Officer of the Data Center and Cloud Division at Citrix Systems until leaving in 2011.
Mr Crosby chairs the Switch Control Working Group of the Multi-Service Switching Forum where he is active in promoting new standards for open, programmable networks.
