Sir Avraham Goldberg was educated at George Heriot's School in Edinburgh and the University of Edinburgh.
He got the gegree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in University of Edinburgh, 1946. Then he became Doctor of Medicine with Gold Medal (1956) and Doctor of Science, University of Glasgow (1966).
Avraham Goldberg was Visiting Professor in Tel Hashomer Hospital (1966); Regius Professor of Materia Medica in Glasgow University (1970-1978). He held the position of Chairman of the Biomedical Research Committee (Scottish Home and Health Department) (1977-1983); Chairman of the UK Committee on Safety of Medicine (1980-1986). He was Founding President of Faculty of Pharmaceutical Medicine in Royal College of Physicians of U.K. (1989-1991); Goodall Memorial Lecturer (1989); Chairman of Glasgow Friends of Shaare Zedek Medicine Centre in Jerusalem; Editor, Scottish Medicine Journal (1962-1963).
GOLDBERG, Sir Avraham was a member of Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, Fellowship of the Royal Society of Edinburgh.
Served to honorary major Royal Army Medical Corps, 1947-1949. Fellow Royal Society Edinburgh, 1971, Royal College Physicians London (Fitzpatrick lecturer 1988), Royal College Physicians Edinburgh, Royal College Physicians and Surgeons Glasgow. Member Association Physicians Great Britain.
Avraham Goldberg was married Clarice Cussin (September 3, 1957). He had 3 children: David, Jennifer, Richard.
