Skye Moody has traveled throughout the world as a photojournalist and writer covering social justice and environmental issues. A former East Africa bush guide, Moody led medical safaris into the Kenya and Tanzania bush to help diagnose and treat tropical diseases afflicting tribal villages. Her frequent interaction with endangered species in East Africa, Asia, and the Pacific Northwest inspires her novels about the planet's most vulnerable victims of human ruthlessness and greed. Her portraits of working people in China, the former USSR, and the US have been exhibited worldwide.
Moody is the creator of the "Venus Diamond" mystery series, a collection of novels which characteristically educate readers on environmental topics and perspectives while leading them through a mystery. Rain Dance, the series debut, introduces the series' heroine, Department of Interior agent Venus Diamond.
Along with other members of PEN South and volunteers, Skye also founded and edited Southern Lights, PEN South's Literary Anthology, including poems, short stories, and essays from PEN members throughout the world.

Moody is a member of Poets, Playwrights, Editors, Essayists and Novelists association, PEN Center USA, the UK-based Cloud Appreciation Society and Africa liaison for the NGO Global Help Organization.
