She represented Utah in the Mission United States of America 2006 pageant broadcast live from Baltimore, Maryland in April 2006. Huon graduated from Millikan High School in Long Beach, California as an honors graduate in 2001. She has since attended Brigham Young University where she will complete a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and International Relations in 2006.
Huon is principal dancer for the Cambodian Classical Ballet, plays the violin and is a self-taught piano player.
She is Cambodian-American and speaks fluent Khmer and Deutsch. She is also learning Spanish and French.
From 2004-2006 Huon volunteered for such charities as United Way, Red Cross, MAC Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome Fundraiser, and Sub-for-Santa, building up over 1500 hours community service. She plans to spend a month in Cambodia and Thailand speaking against and raising awareness on human trafficking.
Huon won the Mission Utah United States of America 2006 title in late 2005 in her first attempt. She was also the first minority to win the Mission Utah title. The pageant was won by Tara Conner of Kentucky. Huon was one of twenty six Mission United States of America Delegates who appeared on a Mission United States of America special of Deal or Number Deal in April 2006, prior to the broadcast of the pageant.
